Are You Better Than McCain?

It’s not a stretch to say that John McCain isn’t the most naturally talented public speaker to run for the office of President of the United States. Our hunch is that you (yes, YOU!) can do a better job than Mr. McCain, using McCain’s own words.

Here’s how to submit your own “cover” of John McCain:

1. Choose a paragraph or two from a transcript of one of his speeches, or do your own search. Here are a couple of recommendations, too, but you’ll need to write your own transcript: “Gates of Hell” or “Fighting for the Recognition of Dr. MLK’s Birthday in My State“, or “Obviously We’d Like to See More Sunshine“, or how about“We don’t need another politician in Washington”, or maybe “It is succeeding…It’s been long, hard and tough”, there’s always “We’ve got to unite the party…straight talk…”, and “I don’t think that I am scared.”, or “We oughta start by drilling offshore…”, “Obama would rather lose a war to win a political campaign”, and “I am an illiterate…”

2. Record your version with a webcam or video camera. Tips: The less cringeworthy you appear, as if you’re a: reading a teleprompter, or b: about to attack the press for asking such a ridiculous question, the closer you’ll be to being Better (and more Presidential!) Than McCain.

3. Insert a closing tag at the end of your video by saying “I’m (yourname), and I’m Better Than McCain”
